SNAKESKIN Vertical 2021-2023 Skin-Contact Sémillon
A vertical of every SNAKESKIN made thus far - from the debut, 2021, through the current release, 2023, the three vintages are elegant, age-worthy expressions of Sémillon. Made in Tuscan terra-cotta amphora.
The SERPENTS grapes treated as if they were red. I.e., rather than the gentle, fast processing that most white grapes undergo, this fruit was punched down and left for an extended maceration on its skins, seeds, and stems. The resulting animals that emerged, although related, have entirely different aromatics, tannin structure, and, of course, color - a shimmering amber hue. As this wine is the SERPENTS, but with extended skin contact, its naturally called SNAKESKIN.
100 Cases produced.
SNAKESKIN bucks preconceptions of what to expect from white grapes, offering notes of tea, toasted almond, apricot, and jasmine. This is a fascinating food wine, sure to inspire unprecedented pairings.
